Irene Bañeres, on behalf of her family, donated the sports-related library of her father, sportswriter and journalist Enric Bañeres, to the Joan Antoni Samaranch Centre for Olympic and Sports Studies.
Enric Bañeres, deceased in 2017, was the sports director of La Vanguardia and Mundo Deportivo. After retiring from journalism in 2015, he dedicated his last years to teaching at the International University of Catalonia.
Bañeres’ documentary collection consists of some 200 books, including his own publications about FC Barcelona: Les Lligues del Barça (1998), Estimada Basilea (2004), Dichoso Barça (2000), Los Mur: masajistas del Barça (2008).
