The Barcelona Olympic Foundation, in collaboration with the Francisco Godia Foundation, pays tribute to the rich automotive history of Barcelona through the book Barcelona, Paco Godia and the Motor: A City and a Driver, highlighting Paco Godia as a symbol of this shared passion.

Additionally, there is a photographic exhibition titled Francisco Godia Sales, a Gentleman Driver, which offers a glimpse into the legacy of this iconic driver and his connection to the city. It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore the impact of motor racing in Barcelona and remember the achievements of one of its key figures.

The passion for motorsport has made Barcelona a unique case worldwide. The city has hosted two Grand Prix circuits on its streets: Pedralbes, located at the top of Avinguda Diagonal, and Montjuïc, a track set in the park of the magic mountain. No other city can boast having hosted two different urban circuits that have hosted the Formula 1 World Championship, a tradition that continues today at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

This phenomenon is the result of a rich sporting, industrial, and organizational tradition, supported by the contributions of numerous entities and individuals. Paco Godia, who raced in the World Championship at Pedralbes and closed his career with a spectacular victory at Montjuïc, is one of the key figures in this story. His legacy, along with that of other drivers, reflects the vibrant activity of motorsport in Barcelona and its evolution over time.
